What Do Aspects Between The Sun and Moon Mean, Part 1?
If you read the daily posts in my blog you'll see that I write about things like a Waxing Trine or Waning Inconjunct between the Sun and Moon. Besides transits of planets and asteroids, monthly aspects between the Sun and Moon have specific meanings. The meanings are influenced by signs but in general they remain the same.
This post will look at Waxing aspects that occur every month between the Sun and Moon. They happen between each New and Full Moon (a time of growth and increased illumination). The next post (this weekend or the next week) will look at Waning aspects.
Aspects occur within phases.
Conjunction (introduces the New phase): a New Moon and new beginning. The seed of what is to come rather than then complete picture. A time of discovery and potential.
Waxing Sextile ( occurs during the Crescent Phase) a harmonious aspect that enables integration between the potential of the New Moon and what comes next. It's so harmonious that it can also be easily overlooked.
First Quarter Square (introduces the First Quarter Phase): "crisis in action". Tension creates discomfort, which pushes you forward and urges action. This is about a concerted effort to make the New Moon potentials real.
Waxing Trine: (occurs during the First Quarter Phase) harmony that comes from understanding how to move forward. After the tension of the square, there can be a break-though.
Waxing Inconjunct (occurs during the Gibbous Phase): one, final adjustment before the Full Moon. A frustrating moment when you realize that what you thought was complete needs some minor tweaks. Not the time for major changes, but certain refinements have to happen before you can progress.
These phases can be used a general guidelines. For example, if you're planning something on the day of the First Quarter Square, expect some tension. It can however be an excellent day to get motivated. The day of the Waxing Trine enables a smooth flow of events, but other transits will of course influence this.
